Three-year follow-up results of two children born from a transplanted uterus
CONCLUSION: Though pregnancy after uterus transplantation is associated with the risk of premature delivery, no abnormalities were observed in the neonatal course and 3-year follow-up results, including the neurodevelopmental status, of two children born prematurely to mothers with a transplanted uterus. This is the first report on neurodevelopmental outcomes in children born after uterus transplantation. More data on children born after this radical procedure of uterine factor infertility treatment are required to support our promising results.PMID:37901926 | DOI:10.5507/bp.2023.042 (Source: Biomedical Papers of the Medic...

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in acute hospitalized older patients focused on hydration
CONCLUSION: Dehydration is a common feature in older individuals and its diagnostics is rather complicated. The role of POCUS in assessing hydration status remains unclear. However, our study showed, that ultrasound assessment provides next important information for comprehensive understanding of clinical status in older patients and can be beneficial for optimizing the treatment strategy, including fluid management decisions.PMID:37799003 | DOI:10.5507/bp.2023.038 (Source: Biomedical Papers of the Medical Faculty of the Univ Palacky Olomouc Czech Repub)

The association between preterm births and assisted reproductive technologies
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, the differences between ART-treated mothers according to the conception method are due mainly to the structural differences between mothers. When controlling for the covariates (Cox regression model), no significant differences were observed concerning the risk of preterm births for women who underwent fresh IVF, FET and OoR.PMID:37799004 | DOI:10.5507/bp.2023.039 (Source: Biomedical Papers of the Medical Faculty of the Univ Palacky Olomouc Czech Repub)
