Structural Cardiology Lifestyle
I'm wondering if anyone could share with me a typical week of an interventionalist with structural training looks like - split between coronary work and structural/PAD work? I'm specifically interested in people who work in major cities in the US. Also, how big is the average interventional group in the major cities and what does the call schedule look like? (Ie are most people taking STEMI call and general call?) Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Help deciding between Cardiology and Heme/Onc Fellowship
Hello all, I am trying to plan out my future and decide what kind of research to take on to best prepare myself for fellowships. I loved both Cardiology and Heme/Onc. If I did cardiology I think I would do interventional and maybe structural. I love procedures and I love how much variety you can get in cardiology. You can get acuity, continuity of care, you can do imaging, procedures, etc. That being said, I also love Heme/Onc. The science behind it is fascinating, it is very cerebral and... Help me decide: Noorda COM vs ATSU-SOMA vs NYIT-Arkansas
I have been fortunate to have been accepted by these schools. I am interested in radiology, neurology, cardiology & GI. I understand these specialties (except neuro) are not DO friendly and was wondering which of these schools would be the best for achieving them? I was leaning towards NYIT-Arkansas or ATSU SOMA. Any advice appreciated. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

General Cardiologists working as the primary attending in Cardiac ICUs?
I'm seeing some job openings for Cardiac ICUs where they are willing to take people without any formal critical care training. Is this a frequent situation? Who would be handling the vent? Intubating? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

We are the EMTALA experts
Hi All, As EPs, we see incredibly diverse pathology, yet our scope of practice is hopelessly narrow, with few actionable goals outside of the occasional airway, central line, sedation, cardioversion, or (knock on wood) the ultra rare emergency cesarean or surgical airway. In most cases, our sickest patients must be passed along to our colleagues in other fields who have more expertise, and yet these colleagues often take advantage of this power imbalance to treat patients callously, cross...
