Congenital pseudodiphallia & #8211;A rare case presentation
Amit Kumar Mishra, Vijay Anand, Ravi KaleJournal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons 2023 28(6):537-540 Diphallia (penile duplication) is a rare congenital malformation with an incidence of about 1 per 5–6 million newborns. The severity of diphallia varies from a small accessory penile-like tissue to complete true penile duplication with other deformities, usually involving the urogenital, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal systems. Pseudodiphallia, as a rare kind of diphallia, is characterized by a small accessory penile-like tissue without a normal penile anatomy structure. A 5.5-year-old male ch...

Commentary on “Reducing costs of referrals for non-neonatal circumcision in Florida Medicaid population"
We have read the article entitled “Reducing costs of referrals for non-neonatal circumcision in Florida Medicaid population” by Hernandez et al. [1] with great interest. The purpose of the study was to find a way to reduce the cost of circumcision among low-income Americans. To reduce costs, the authors recommend circumcision as soon as possible after birth. Response to letter to the Editor re Reducing Costs of Referrals for Non-neonatal Circumcision in Florida Medicaid Population
The authors concur that in an asymptomatic child the decision for circumcision is not the “surgeon’s choice.” Neonatal circumcision remains controversial. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines state “Evaluation of current evidence indicates that the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks; furthermore, the benefits of newborn male circumcisio n justify access to this procedure for families who choose it”.1 The decision for or against neonatal circumcision is one made by the families. Megameatus intact prepuce variant reconstruction: long-term outcomes and comparison to post-circumcision hypospadias repair
Megameatus intact prepuce (MIP) variant is considered a surgical challenge with associated high complication rates. It is usually diagnosed and corrected only after neonatal circumcision, which is discouraged in non-MIP hypospadias. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

HIV Focused Sexual Risk-Reduction Interventions Targeting Adolescent Boys and Young Men in Sub-Saharan Africa: A Scoping Review
AbstractAdolescent girls and young women ’s exceptionalism with HIV interventions has left adolescent boys and young men (ABYM) trailing behind, thus becoming a marginalized and underserved population. The scoping review aimed to provide an overview of interventions that have targeted sexual risk behaviors in ABYM in Sub-Saharan Africa ( SSA) over the previous 21 years with critical insights on ‘what works’ in preventing the sexual transmission of HIV. A scoping review guided by Arksey and O’Malley’s (in Int J Soc Res Methodol 8(1):19–32,16) framework and the 2015 Johanna Briggs Institute ’s guidelines was c...

Costing of HIV services, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania
CONCLUSION: Establishing a rigorous, longitudinal system for tracking investments in HIV services that includes thousands of clients and numerous facilities is achievable in different settings with a high HIV burden. Consistent engagement of implementation partners and standardized training and data collection instruments proved essential for the success of these exercises.PMID:37772194 | PMC:PMC10523817 | DOI:10.2471/BLT.22.289580 (Source: Bulletin of the World Health Organization)

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4807: Penile-Sparing Surgery for Tumour Recurrence after Previous Glansectomy/Partial Penectomy: Treatment Feasibility and Oncological Outcomes
In conclusion, we reported the results of a preliminary analysis testing safety, feasibility, and early oncological outcomes of PSS procedures for patients with local recurrence after previous glansectomy or partial penectomy. Stronger oncological outcomes should be tested in other series to optimise patient selection. (Source: Cancers)
