Cervical Disc Arthroplasty Versus Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion: An Analysis of the Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative Database
Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) are established surgical options for the treatment of cervical radiculopathy, myelopathy, and cervical degenerative disc disease. However, current literature does not demonstrate a clear superiority between ACDF and CDA. (Source: The Spine Journal)

Gasless Single-Incision Endoscopic Surgery via Subclavicular Approach for Lateral Neck Dissection in Patients with Papillary Thyroid Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: ESSA is a safe and minimally invasive procedure that provides a scarless cervical appearance and has good efficacy for LND. Therefore, ESSA may be a feasible choice for selected patients with N1b PTC with cervical cosmetic needs.PMID:38099992 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-14639-1 (Source: Ann Oncol)

Is single-level cervical disc arthroplasty associated with a lower reoperation rate than anterior cervical discectomy and fusion?
CONCLUSIONS: Single-level CDA was associated with a similar rate of reoperation and higher rate of subsequent injections when compared with a matched cohort that underwent single-level ACDF. CDA was associated with lower rates of 90-day adverse events and readmissions.PMID:38100758 | DOI:10.3171/2023.10.SPINE23640 (Source: Journal of Neurosurgery.Spine)
