Orbital and Optic Nerve Sheath Involvement and Pupil-Involving Cranial Nerve 3 Palsy in Giant Cell Arteritis
J Rheumatol. 2024 Mar 1:jrheum.2023-1195. doi: 10.3899/jrheum.2023-1195. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGiant cell arteritis (GCA) can present with atypical presentations that are diagnostically challenging. An 84-year-old woman with a history of breast adenocarcinoma treated with lumpectomy and radiation 2 years prior presented with a seizure-like episode.PMID:38428963 | DOI:10.3899/jrheum.2023-1195 (Source: J Rheumatol)

Out-of-pocket cost modeling of adjuvant antiestrogen and radiation therapy after lumpectomy for early-stage breast cancer across Medicaid and Medicare plans
The optimal adjuvant therapy (anti-estrogen therapy (ET)  + radiotherapy or ET alone, or in some reports radiotherapy alone) in older women with early-stage breast cancer has been highly debated. However, granular details on the role of insurance in the out-of-pocket cost for patients receiving ET with or without radiotherapy are lacking. This project disaggregates out-of-pocket costs by insurance plans to increase treatment cost transparency. (Source: International Journal of Radiation Oncology * Biology * Physics)

A case of necrotizing fasciitis of the breast following lumpectomy and oncoplastic closure
CONCLUSION: This case exemplifies how frequent postoperative surveillance, a low threshold for intervention, and efficient coordination of care are vital to minimizing the morbidity and mortality risks associated with NF of the breast.PMID:38417817 (Source: Wounds)
