Is meta-worry relevant to interpersonal problems? Testing the metacognitive model of generalized anxiety disorder in an analogue- and a clinical sample of GAD
Cogn Behav Ther. 2024 Mar 19:1-12. doi: 10.1080/16506073.2024.2331191. Mediation of social anxiety and depression during internet-delivered treatment for social anxiety disorder
Cogn Behav Ther. 2024 Mar 19:1-18. doi: 10.1080/16506073.2024.2331188. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMany individuals with social anxiety disorder (SAD) have depressive symptoms that meet criteria for major depressive disorder (MDD). In our study, we examined the temporal relationship between symptoms of social anxiety and symptoms of depression during the course of an 11-week internet-delivered cognitive behavioral treatment (ICBT) for SAD (n = 170). Specifically, we investigated whether weekly changes in social anxiety mediated changes in depression, changes in depression mediated changes in anxiety, both or neither. In ...

Psychological therapies for depression in older adults residing in long-term care settings

Psychological therapies may also improve quality of life and psychological well-being amongst depressed LTC residents in the short term, but may have no effect on symptoms of anxiety in depressed LTC residents, compared to control conditions. However, the evidence for these effects is very uncertain, limiting our confidence in the findings. The evidence could be strengthened by better repo...
