Acute effect of ambient fine particulate matter on heart rate variability: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis of panel studies

ConclusionShort-term exposure to PM2.5 was associated with decreased HRV levels. Future studies are warranted to clarity the exact mechanism of exposure to PM2.5 on the cardiovascular system through disturbance of autonomic nervous function.
