Metformin promotes susceptibility to experimental Leishmania braziliensis infection.
CONCLUSION: Experimental treatment with MET interfered with the kinetics of cutaneous ulceration, increased Lb parasite load, altered ROS production and modulated cellular proliferation. Our experimental results indicate that MET interfere with the evolution of CL.
