Fish oil and vitamin D supplements not effective for preventing atrial fibrillation

(American Heart Association) About 2.7 million Americans are living with atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to blood clots, strokes, heart failure and other heart-related complications.Previous studies have not been able to confirm if vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acid supplements such as fish oil can prevent atrial fibrillation, while some studies have conflicting data about the risks and benefits of these supplements for patients with other health conditions.
