Predicting the rising incidence and mortality of endometrial cancers among women aged 65-74 years in Catalonia
Cancers of the endometrium rank as the fourth most frequently diagnosed cancers among European women [1]. Endometrial cancer is the most common type, representing 90% of the cancers of the corpus uteri. Endometrial cancers are mostly diagnosed after menopause and hormones play a key role in their etiology [2]. Established risk factors include early menarche, late menopause, nulliparity, menopausal hormone use, obesity, diabetes, hypertension and Lynch syndrome [2 –5].
