Lung clearance index for evaluation of late complications of cancer therapy in children

Conclusion: Off-treatment childhood cancer survivors maintain good respiratory function values at a distance. The additional value of LCI is that this index is better when the diagnosis of cancer has been made in the first years of life or when more years from last chemotherapy have been passed, signs of the capacity of the pediatric lung to "regenerate" after having been subjected to the action of chemotherapeutic agents.
