Vaginal endometrial stromal sarcoma: A literature review.

Vaginal endometrial stromal sarcoma: A literature review. Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol X. 2019 Oct;4:100094 Authors: Wu H, Luo Y, Yin N, Gui W, Cao Y Abstract Vaginal endometrial stromal sarcoma (VESS) is a rare disease. To the best of our knowledge, there have only been a few reported cases in the literature. Therefore, we conducted a literature review to obtain specific knowledge of this disease. Thirteen cases of VESS were found by searching the Medline and EMBASE databases in the English language. The mechanism of VESS may be associated with endometriosis, and its diagnosis largely depends on pathological examination because it has no typical symptoms. Treatment of VESS incorporates surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormonal therapy. Some novel drugs targeting its mechanism may become alternative therapies. Its prognostic factors may include tumor stage and the expression of hormonal receptors. PMID: 31528854 [PubMed]

Vaterite has been shown to exhibit various beneficial properties such as excellent biocompatibility, high drug loading capacity, and pH-sensitive decomposition under mild conditions. However, fabricating vateri...

Conclusions: The PIPAC is safe and is not a burdensome or aggressive form of therapy, especially according to the very important factors influencing the potential quality of hair and hair loss. The authors, however, realize that to obtain comprehensive results and evaluate this novel and promising method we need to perform more research without any limitations like those in our study. Authors: Weng X, Luo S, Lin S, Zhong L, Li M, Xin R, Huang P, Xu X Abstract To evaluate the cost-utility of pembrolizumab versus chemotherapy as the first-line setting for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) from the US health care system perspective. A Markov model was developed to compare the life-time cost and effectiveness of pembrolizumab versus chemotherapy for untreated metastatic NSCLC, based on the clinical data derived from phase III randomized controlled trial (KEYNOTE-042, ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT02220894). Weibull distribution was fitted to simulate the parametric survival functions. Drug cost...

In this study, we aimed to explore the efficacy and safety profile of apatinib monotherapy, or combined with chemotherapy or endothelial growth factor receptor (EGFR)-TKI in heavily pretreated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases. We performed a retrospective analysis for relapsed NSCLC patients with brain metastases from our institute, whom received apatinib (250mg or 500mg p.o. qd) monotherapy, or combination with EGFR-TKI or chemotherapy as second- or more line systemic therapy until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurred. The objective response rate (ORR), disease control rat...

We report a case of a 61 year-old-male who presented a terminal hematuria. Ultrasounds revealed a mass at the dome and the right of urinary bladder. A transurethral resection of the bladder tumor was performed. A pathological examination revealed a pT1 hight grade carciono-sarcoma of the urinary bladder with cartilaginous differentiation. Cystoprostatectomy with Bricker diversion and lymph node dissection were performed. The pathological examination of the surgical specimen revealed no residual tumor lesion.

Conclusions Collectively, there is consistent, compelling evidence that physical activity plays a role in preventing many types of cancer and for improving longevity among cancer survivors, although the evidence related to higher risk of melanoma demonstrates the importance of sun safe practices while being physically active. Together, these findings underscore the importance of physical activity in cancer prevention and control. Fitness and public health professionals and health care providers worldwide are encouraged to spread the message to the general population and cancer survivors to be physically active as their a...

Conclusions These results suggest that a long-term exercise training combined with the intake of green tea extract may reduce levels of NF-kB and p53 in rats with prostate cancer. Given the importance of recognizing complementary therapies in this regard, future studies are warranted.
