Modified Pancreatojejunostomy in Pancreaticoduodenectomy for the Treatment of Periampullary Tumor: 8 Years of Surgical Experience.

CONCLUSIONS Upon review of a single surgeon's experience over 8 years, Blumgart anastomosis might be more effective in the prevention of CR-POPF than traditional anastomosis. Our modified-Blumgart anastomosis method maintained a low rate of morbidity and mortality but with simplified procedures that can be easily put into practice. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with PSC show significantly higher than average risk for the development of hepatobiliary and colonic malignancies including cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder carcinoma and colorectal carcinoma. Yearly ultrasound surveillance followed with more definitive cross sectional imaging is prudent to arrive in a timely diagnosis of carcinoma, reducing morbidity and mortality. In this study, we confirmed that FOXO1 is commonly downregulated in PDAC tissues, at both the mRNA and protein levels, compared to adjacent tissues. In this study, we first confirmed that ECM1 is significantly upregulated in PDAC tissues and that its high levels of expression are closely associated with an advanced histologic grade and a poor prognosis using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.
