High BAFF expression associated with active disease in systemic lupus erythematosus and relationship with rs9514828C & gt;T polymorphism in TNFSF13B gene
In conclusion, theTNFSF13B gene polymorphisms were not found to be associated with SLE susceptibility in Mexican mestizos. Nevertheless, rs9514828C>T polymorphism seems to increaseTNFSF13B gene expression. High BAFF expression is related to active disease, renal and hematological involvement; therefore, it could be considered as follow-up biomarker in SLE patients.
