American Skin Association Research Grants The deadline for receipt of applications is extended to November 1, 2014. Amount: $15,000 (renewable for one year) American Skin Association (ASA) is accepting applications for support of disease-specific research targeting the following five (5) disorders: Childhood Skin Diseases/Disfigurement, Psoriasis/Inflammatory Skin Diseases, Skin Cancer, Melanoma, Vitiligo/Pigment Cell Disorders, and Quality of Life/Health Services/Outcome Studies. Research must be focused on one of these categories. A second year of funding may be requested upon receipt and review of a final progress report and re-application. If an awardee receives a career development award or other comparable research award from the NIH, the Dermatology Foundation, or similar organization, he or she must choose between it and this research award. ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be working actively in areas related to dermatology. Funds may be used for support of a new or ongoing research/clinical investigation project. There is no age requirement. However, applicants without prior funding, who are in a formative stage of their career, or who are undergoing a mid-career research change will be given preference.
