Psychotic experiences as indicators of risk for cardiovascular disease

Recent studies have discovered that people who report psychotic experiences (PEs) –a milder but more prevalent expression of psychosis in the general population (Linscott and van Os, 2013) — also report a wide range of serious mental and physical health problems, such as comorbid psychiatric disorders (DeVylder et al., 2014), disabilities (Oh et al., 2018), chronic health pro blems (Moreno et al., 2013; Oh and DeVylder, 2015), shorter lifespan (Sharifi et al., 2015), and suicidal behaviors (DeVylder et al., 2015; Kelleher et al., 2013).
