Epid-16. outcomes of funded neuro-oncology summer research opportunities for medical students
CONCLUSIONS:Compared to historical practice patterns, medical students who participated in neuro-oncology funded summer research opportunities are more likely to be in academia and the neuro-oncology-related fields of neurosurgery, neurology, pathology, and radiation oncology. Early funding for mentored medical student research may provide substantial ‘returns-on-investment’ in terms of future neuro-oncologic research and practice.
