Poor Positive Predictive Value of Lyme Disease Serologic Testing in an Area of Low Disease Incidence
Conclusions. In this low-prevalence cohort, fewer than 20% of positive Lyme disease tests are obtained from patients with clinically likely Lyme disease. Positive Lyme disease test results may have little diagnostic value in this setting.

We report a case of CVST in a 42-year-old male admitted with meningococcal meningitis. The patient was managed with antibiotics. Due to altered coagulation parameters observed in fulminant cases of meningococcemia, deployment of anticoagulation therapy, which would otherwise be the treatment of choice for CVST, is a dilemma. Conclusions There are significant differences between subjects with RA and matched healthy control subjects regarding the exhaled NO parameters. It is unclear if this can be explained by the pathogenesis of RA, consequences of long-term disease, and/or due to drug treatment.

CONCLUSION: The promising effects of patented agents against IL-17A may open new opportunities to therapeutic intervention targeting at different levels of involvement in the pathogenesis of cancer and inflammatory diseases. PMID: 29468982 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSION: Zika virus has the potential to be transmitted in Argentina throughout the current geographic range of the mosquito vector. Although the transmission would be mainly seasonal, the possibility of winter transmission cannot be excluded in northern and central Argentina, meaning that there is a potential endemic maintenance of the disease. CONCLUSIONS: The study findings suggest that the HKM-modifying enzymes are involved in the alteration of HKM, which results in changes in the gene expression of RASFs. PMID: 29465369 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
