Isolation and Characterization of Lytic Phage vB_EcoM_JS09 against Clinically Isolated Antibiotic-Resistant Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli and Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli

Conclusions: A novel lytic coliphage named JS09 was isolated from sewage samples of a swine farm in Jiangsu Province, China. It could infect antibiotic-resistant APEC and ETEC. The morphological, genomic, and growth characteristics of JS09 were studied, and this will be helpful for phage therapy in controlling diseases caused by APEC and ETEC.Intervirology 2015;58:218-231
