Outcomes of DCD Heart Transplant: NRP and OCS

Purpose: Donation after cardiac death (DCD) is an effective method to expand the heart transplant donor pool. Multiple methods of procurement exist, including normothermic regional perfusion followed by cold storage (NRP) and direct procurement followed by ex-vivo perfusion with the Transmedics Organ Care System (OCS). This project aims to evaluate outcomes between NRP and OCS transplants and how both compare to donation after brain death (DBD).
