Purpose: Early substitution of calcineurin inhibitor (CNI) with mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors has been shown to improve kidney function and reduce intimal hyperplasia in heart transplant (Htx) recipients but data on long term outcome of such a regime are still sparse.
