Trend in Lung Donation from Circulatory Death Donors in European Countries
Purpose: Organ shortage is a major issue for solid organ transplantations, particularly for lung (LTx), leading to reduction in recipient viability and candidate mortality. Most organs come from Brain Death Donors (DBD), however in countries where a legal framework exists, donation from Circulatory Death Donors (DCD) increases number of available organs and contribute to addressing organ shortage.
