Practice Variation in Anticoagulation Management of Outpatient Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Patients: Survey of ACTION Providers

Purpose: Anticoagulation is frequently utilized in children with cardiomyopathy for primary prevention of thrombosis. However, there is limited evidence to support prophylactic anticoagulation and data regarding practice variation and management strategy for children with cardiomyopathy are scarce. The aim of this study was to evaluate practice variation in the management of outpatient prophylactic anticoagulation of children with cardiomyopathy cared for at Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network (ACTION) centers.
