Does Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion Mitigate the Detrimental Effects of Primary Graft Dysfunction? A Propensity Matched Analysis of the United Network for Organ Sharing Database
Purpose: Previous studies and anecdotal reports have proposed that recipients who develop primary graft dysfunction grade 3 (PGD3) following lung transplantation from allografts that underwent ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) have improved outcomes, as compared to those who did not undergo EVLP. We sought to determine if this held true in a national database.
