Genetic referral patterns and outcomes among patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy requiring advanced therapies
Patients with advanced heart failure (HF) due to a range of cardiomyopathy (CMP) subtypes often require advanced therapies including left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) or orthotopic heart transplantation (OHT). Nonischemic etiologies underlie roughly half of patients with advanced HF requiring advanced therapies.1,2 Over the last two decades, experts have increasingly recognized the prognostic and therapeutic impact of defining specific CMP endotypes toward the goal of personalized medicine.
