The effectiveness of visualising plaque on cardiac computed tomography in modifying risk factors for cardiovascular disease: A systematic review

This systematic review explores the impact of visual feedback from cardiac computed tomography (CT) imaging on health behaviours, risk factor modification, and cardiovascular risk scores. The review, based on nine diverse studies, suggests that CT imaging has short-term favourable effects on cholesterol levels, systolic blood pressure reduction, and positive dietary changes. However, results on lifestyle changes varied, emphasising the need for further research to understand the long-term impact of cardiac CT imaging on health behaviours and risk factor modification.
