Pancytopenia following adjuvant therapy with interferon gamma (IFN- γ) in a patient with disseminated nocardiosis

We report a case of pancytopenia following treatment with recombinant interferon gamma (IFN- γ) in a patient with disseminated nocardiosis. A 78-year-old woman presented with non-specific symptoms of general weakness, cough, fever, right-hand paresis, unsteady gait, and vision deterioration. Her medical record revealed multiple allergic reactions, notably to salicylates (including aspirin) , histamines, penicillin, ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, bisoprolol, and iodide. She reported having Henoch–Schönlein purpura, asthma, and arterial hypertension.
