Patients with ulcerative colitis affected by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease have a greater risk of mortality and worse clinical outcomes

Ulcerative colitis (UC) affects millions of patients worldwide and keeps trending upward. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is an emerging disease predisposing to adverse outcomes. There is limited evidence of clinical outcomes of NAFLD in patients with UC. We sought to investigate this population.
