Evidence Of Genetic Testing In A Large, Real-world DCM Cohort And Association With Heart Failure Risk

Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a significant cause of congestive heart failure (HF). Understanding the etiology of the left ventricular dysfunction leading to DCM may inform clinical care and prevent subsequent progression to HF. Current clinical guidelines recommend genetic testing for all patients with a diagnosis of DCM or with a family history of DCM; however, the association between guideline-directed genetic testing and progression to clinical HF in DCM patients has yet to be determined.
