Feasibility of prebiotic enteral nutrition provision during allogeneic stem cell transplantation
Rationale: Decline in gastrointestinal microbial diversity and short chain fatty acid (SCFA) levels during allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT) has been associated with poorer patient outcomes1. Evidence on prebiotic fibre enteral nutrition (EN) and its impact on the microbiome during SCT is lacking. This pilot study aimed to investigate feasibility of prebiotic EN provision and evaluate tolerance, clinical and microbiological outcomes in comparison to standard fibre free EN.
