Francesco Lanza is professor of Hematology (University Medical School of Bologna- Alma Mater Studiorum), head of the Hematology and Phase 1 trial Unit in Ravenna (Italy), director of the Stem cell Transplant Network in the Romagna Region. He is Senior Editor of Transfusion and Apheresis Science, Associate Editor for the International Journal Cytometry part B, and Cancers. He serves as editorial board member for more than 10 International Journals. He acts as Subcommittee chair of the Acute Leukemia Working Party of the European Transplantation Society EBMT (2018-today), president of the Italian Society for Apheresis and Manipulation for Cellular Therapy (GIIMA) (2018-today), member of the “Graft Evaluation Committee” of WBMT (Worldwide Network for Blood& Marrow Transplantation)/WHO, and AHCTA (Alliance for Harmonisation of Cellular Therapy Accreditation), Past Chairman of the “Solid Tumor Working Party” of EBMT (2013-2017), Past President of the International Society for Cell therapy (ISCT)- European Branch (2009-2012), past Member of CAT (Committee for Advanced Therapy) at EMA (European Medical Agency) (2010 2012), Past President of the Italian Society of Cytometry GIC (2008-2012).
