Assessing the mFI-5 frailty score and functional status in geriatric patients undergoing inguinal hernia repairs

ConclusionThe mFI-5 is predictive of complications in geriatric inguinal hernia repairs, especially in emergent cases. Frail patients with non-independent functional status are most at risk and, thus  require proactive and watchful perioperative care.Graphical abstract
