Use of autologous adipose tissue in acute burn wound management: A systematic review
Ann Chir Plast Esthet. 2023 Sep 26:S0294-1260(23)00112-7. doi: 10.1016/j.anplas.2023.09.006. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFat transfer is increasingly used as part of our reconstructive armamentarium to address the challenges encountered in burn wounds and reconstructive surgery. The present systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of autologous fat transfer for acute burn wound management. A systematic review of the US National Library of Medicine, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Embase was conducted on October 15, 2022 (registration number CDR42022369726). A database watch was performed until submissi...

Clinical and radiographic outcomes of negative pressure wound therapy combined with polymethylmethacrylate sealant for wound management of Gustilo type III open tibia fractures
CONCLUSION: Combination therapy using negative pressure wound therapy and polymethylmethacrylate sealant serves as a useful and reliable therapeutic strategy for wound management of Gustilo type III open tibia fractures, especially when delayed soft-tissue recon- struction is unavoidable. Acellular Fish Skin for Tissue Replacement
Surg Technol Int. 2023 Sep 20;42:sti42/1710. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn modern practice, xenografts play a crucial role in wound management due to their regenerative properties. Of the various xenografts currently available on the market, acellular fish skin (AFS) grafts have emerged as a more effective alternative to existing xenografts and other standard of care (SOC) treatments for wound healing. Since AFS grafts require minimal processing, they maintain their structural integrity and natural properties, including an abundance of Omega-3 fatty acids, which is a distinctive, pro-regenerative feature. AFS grafts are...
