Why don't prestigious Universities offer DO degree?
From researching other threads especially it seems that there is still an underlying bias against the DO degree, albeit being better than decades ago, there is still a stigma that persists. I understand the disadvantages, such as a harder time matching into competitive specialties, most likely schooling in a rural environment, lack of research opportunities, usually not affiliated with teaching hospital and potentially inconsistent clinical training. However the end goal is still the same... Why don't prestigious Universities offer DO degree? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Best Experiences in your VetMed Career

I guess I'll start with one from a vet student: This fall I was doing a shadow shift through our ECC club in the teaching hospital ICU, and had stayed a few hours past the shift end because it was a busy night and there were some... Majority of medical school rotations in a clinic!
So I'm an IMG where all my medical school rotation experience occurred in private clinics. Even my IM rotation was in a private clinic! I had one rotation that was hospital based but I set up that up myself and my school penalized me for it (long story). I've graduated from medical school. My question: What do I need to do between now and July 1st 2020 when I begin IM residency? I know the obvious answer is do additional rotations but I'm currently researching at a teaching hospital and... Majority of medical school rotations in a clinic! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

osteopathy in the ICU
At one of my teaching hospitals, there is an FM program with many DOs. Some of them believe in osteopathy and twice now I have come across their recommendation to use osteopathic "manipulation" in the ICU. (most recent example was left trapezius pain in a young patient who had been in bed too long with DKA) I asked them to show me any evidence supporting such practices. None has been provided. In fact, I have been given multiple publications describing manipulations of anatomical... osteopathy in the ICU (Source: Student Doctor Network)
