I am now in medical school so this is the sort of thing I considered: 1.) Type of course - is the medical course problem based learning (e.g. HYMS), integrated (e.g. Newcastle) or traditional (e.g. Oxford)? It's important to consider which courses suit your learning style. 2.) Aspects of application that the uni considers - some medical schools will only look at your UCAT score when deciding who to give interviews to (e.g. Newcastle) whilst others consider other parts of your application such as personal statement and GCSE grades, so it's important to play on your strengths, i.e. if you don't have a really high UCAT score when you come to sit it in Summer/Autumn, look at unis that don't weight it as heavily as others.
