Interventions to reduce wait times for adolescents seeking mental health services: a scoping review protocol
Introduction The demand for adolescent mental health services has increased significantly in recent years, leading to excessive wait times for adolescents seeking mental health services and poor mental health outcomes. Timely access to mental health services is critical to reducing the risk of symptom chronicity and progression to mental disorder. A better understanding of whether and how interventions to reduce wait times impact mental health outcomes is needed to guide mental health policymakers and service planners in their approach to reducing wait times. Methods and analysis The scoping review will use Arksey and O'M...

Current status of the educational environment to acquire and maintain the professional skills of radiotherapy technology and medical physics specialists in Japan: a nationwide survey
This study aimed to investigate the educational environment of radiotherapy technology and medical physics specialists (RTMP) in Japan. We conducted a nationwide questionnaire survey in radiotherapy institutions between June and August 2022. Participants were asked questions regarding the educational system, perspectives on updating RTMP's skills and qualifications, and perspectives on higher education for RTMP at radiotherapy institutions. The results were then analyzed in detail according to three factors: whether the hospital was designed for cancer care, whether it was a Japanese Society for Radiation Oncology (JASTRO)...

Simulation as a tool to model potential workflow enhancements in radiotherapy treatment pathways - A systematic review
The objective was to establish the suitability of those simulations in modeling the potential introduction of processes and technologies to speed up radiotherapy pathways. A systematic literature search was carried out using PubMed and Scopus databases to evaluate the use of simulation in radiotherapy pathways. Full journal articles and conference proceedings were considered, and the search was limited to the English language only. To be eligible for inclusion, articles had to model multiple sequential processes in the radiotherapy pathway concurrently to demonstrate the suitability of simulation modeling in typical pathwa...

Resonance Raman spectra of blue copper proteins: Variable temperature spectra of Thermus thermophilus HB27 laccase
J Inorg Biochem. 2023 Aug 24;248:112362. doi: 10.1016/j.jinorgbio.2023.112362. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe resonance Raman (rR) spectra of the oxidized type 1 copper active site (CuT1) in Thermus thermophilus HB27 laccase (Tth-lac) has been determined in the 20 to 80 °C temperature range using 633-nm excitation. The positions and relative intensities of rR peaks are virtually independent of temperature, indicating that CuT1 ligation is robust over the investigated range. The intensity-weighted average of Tth-lac Cu-SCys vibrations (<ν(Cu-SCys)>) = 423 cm-1) is higher than those of most cupredoxins but is comp...
