Oridonin ameliorates doxorubicin induced-cardiotoxicity via the E2F1/Sirt6/PGC1 α pathway in mice
This study investigates the protective effect of Ori against DIC and elucidates its underlying molecular mechanisms. The results demonstrate that Ori significantly alleviated DIC by improving myocardial structure, reducing the proportion of apoptotic cells, and alleviating the myocardial oxidative damage and mitochondrial dysfunction both in vivo and in vitro. Doxorubicin significantly decreased Sirt6 and PGC1α levels in cardiac tissues, which was reversed by Ori. Furthermore, Sirt6 overexpression significantly improved myocardial structure and reduced the proportion of apoptotic cells by reducing oxidative stress and imp...

The characterization and correlation between the phenotypic and genotypic resistance of < em > Campylobacter < /em > spp < em > . < /em > isolates from commercial broilers and native chickens in the south of Thailand
Avian Pathol. 2023 Sep 18:1-49. doi: 10.1080/03079457.2023.2260322. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAbstractChicken is a major reservoir and source of human infections from zoonotic Campylobacter. In southern Thailand, chicken is the most popular meat consumed; however, little is known about the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of Campylobacter spp. in chicken production systems. We aimed to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of AMR in Campylobacter isolates from commercial broiler and native chicken farms in southern Thailand. A total of 286 Campylobacter isolates (adjusted prevalence: 60.3%, SE ±0.01) were recov...

B < sub > 4 < /sub > C/Ce co-modified Ti/PbO < sub > 2 < /sub > dimensionally stable anode: Facile one-step electrodeposition preparation and highly efficient electrocatalytic degradation of tetracycline
Chemosphere. 2023 Sep 14:140142. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2023.140142. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe application of PbO2 for electrochemical oxidation technology is limited by its low electrocatalytic activity and short service life. Herein, based on the facile one-step electrodeposition, we prepared a boron carbide (B4C) and cerium (Ce) co-modified Ti/PbO2 (Ti/PbO2-B4C-Ce) electrode to overcome these shortcomings. Compared with Ti/PbO2 electrode, the denser surface is displayed by Ti/PbO2-B4C-Ce electrode. Meanwhile, electrochemical characterization indicates that the introduction of B4C and Ce significantly enhance...

Prolonged course of eravacycline leading to acute pancreatitis
We describe a 46-year-old male who received eravacycline for treatment of a perirectal abscess. While the patient had slightly elevated lipase levels at baseline post-cardiopulmonary arrest, he developed abdominal pain and a further increase in lipase levels following 10 days of eravacycline, consistent with pancreatitis. Based on the Naranjo adverse drug reaction probability scale, eravacycline was the probable etiology of acute pancreatitis given improvement immediately after discontinuation. Clinicians should be aware of this potential adverse effect of eravacycline and should not initiate eravacycline in those with ris...

Selective adsorption of tetracycline and copper(II) on ion-imprinted porous alginate microspheres: performance and potential mechanisms
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 Sep 16. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-29810-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA novel epichlorohydrin and thiourea grafted porous alginate adsorbent (UA-Ca/IIP) was synthesized using ion-imprinting and direct templating to remove copper ions (Cu(II)) and tetracycline (TC) in aqueous solution. UA-Ca/IIP demonstrated great selectivity for Cu(II) and TC among different coexisting anions (CO32-, PO43- and SO42-), cations (Ca2+, Mg2+ and NH4+), and antibiotics (oxytetracycline and sulfamethoxazole). The adsorption of TC and Cu(II) by UA-Ca/IIP was significantly affected by the pH of the solution, and t...

A novel efficient intramolecular self-enhanced water-soluble iridium-based electrochemiluminescence reagent and its analytical application in aptamer sensor
Anal Chim Acta. 2023 Oct 16;1278:341694. doi: 10.1016/j.aca.2023.341694. Epub 2023 Aug 9.ABSTRACTIn order to overcome the poor solubilities of iridium-based ECL luminophores and explore self-enhanced ECL luminophores, polyethyleneimine (PEI) covalently linked with iridium complex via amide bonds (abbreviated as Ir-PEI) as a new novel intramolecular self-enhanced water-soluble ECL reagent has been unprecedently designed and successfully synthesized in this work. The chemical structure data, FT-IR spectra, photophysical, electrochemical and electrochemiluminescence of this new ECL reagent have been well characterized. In add...

Molecular imprinted polymer-based potentiometric approach for the assay of the co-formulated tetracycline HCl, metronidazole and bismuth subcitrate in capsules and spiked human plasma
Anal Chim Acta. 2023 Oct 16;1278:341707. doi: 10.1016/j.aca.2023.341707. Epub 2023 Aug 10.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: An anti-H-pylori co-formulated mixture of tetracycline HCl (TET), metronidazole (MET), and bismuth subcitrate (BSC) is recently available. Only two chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods are reported for determining those drugs simultaneously where the effect of impurities that could be present as well as the biological fluids matrix influence do not be taken into consideration. There is a need to develop an easy-to-use potentiometric technique for analysis of TET, MET, and BSC in their co-formulated capsul...
