The Incidence of Thromboembolism for Lenalidomide Versus Thalidomide in Older Patients with Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma
Conclusion: In this propensity score weighted study of older patients with newly diagnosed MM, the cumulative incidences of VTE and ATE were similarly high in both lenalidomide- and thalidomide-treatment groups. The lack of difference in overall survival should be interpreted with caution as residual confounding such as severity of disease could influence this outcome. The prognostic value of Red cell distribution width(RDW) in acute pulmonary thromboembolism
Conclusion: High RDW level is associated with higher 30 and 90 days mortality rate in acute PT patients. This marker could be considered as a valuable prognostic factor in acute PE.

Clonal hematopoiesis (CH) describes an asymptomatic expansion of blood cells descended from a single hematopoietic stem cell. Recent studies have shown that CH increases in frequency with aging, and is often driven by somatic mutations in genes that are recurrently mutated in hematologic malignancies. When CH is associated with a mutation in a leukemia-associated gene at a variant allele frequency of 0.02 or greater, it is termed "clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential" (CHIP). New-Onset Cardiovascular Morbidity in Older Adults With Stage I to III Colorectal Cancer.
Conclusion Older patients with colorectal cancer are at increased risk of developing CVD and CHF. Diabetes and hypertension interact with chemotherapy to increase the risk of cardiovascular morbidity. Future studies should assess the potential for personalized therapeutic options for those with preexisting morbidities and for structured monitoring for patients with a history of exposure to chemotherapy regimens, as well as explore the management of preexisting comorbidities to address long-term cardiovascular morbidity.
