Patient-Led Mass Screening for Atrial Fibrillation in the Older Population Using Handheld Electrocardiographic Devices Integrated With a Clinician-Coordinated Remote Central Monitoring System: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial and Process Evaluation
CONCLUSIONS: By incorporating an integrated health care approach involving patient empowerment, centralized clinician-coordinated ECG monitoring, and facilitation of primary care and specialist services, it is possible to diagnose and treat AF early to reduce stroke risk. CONCLUSION: Stroke survivors recovering in rural and remote locations want to live their life by doing what matters to them, despite the challenges they face. They want support in ways that work for them in their environment. Changes in stroke volume variation and cardiac index during open major bowel surgery
Conclusion: SVV, a dynamic index of fluid responsiveness can be used to monitor patients expected to have large fluid shifts during major abdominal surgery. It is very specific and has a high negative predictive value. When SVV increases, CI is usually maintained. Since many factors affect SVV and CI, any increase in SVV >13%, must be correlated with other parameters before administration of the fluid challenge.

Cross-sectional survey of rehabilitation service availability for stroke and hip fracture in Australian public hospitals
CONCLUSION: There was reduced availability of rehabilitation services and health disciplines in rural/regional settings.
