Rural versus metropolitan comparison of processes of care in the community-based management of TIA and minor stroke in Australia (an analysis from the INSIST study)
CONCLUSIONS: Although TIAMS prognosis in rural settings where solely GP care is common is very good, the processes of care in such areas are inferior to metropolitan. This suggests there is further scope to support rural GPs to optimise care of TIAMS patients.PMID:36382851 | DOI:10.1111/ajr.12950

Is it possible to predict the outcome of endovascular thrombectomy for hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign at the time of first admission ?
Conclusion: We showed that the presence of HMCAS in initial CT was not helpful in predicting good clinical outcomes in patients undergoing endovascular therapy patients. However, the presence of HMCAS is related to more new territory embolism during the procedure. Different endovascular strategies may be applied to these patients.

Bleeding events in the emergency department with warfarin versus novel oral anticoagulants: A five-year analysis
Conclusion: Our findings indicate that rates of major and minor bleeding complications in patients taking NOACs are similar to those in patients taking warfarin. While warfarin was associated with fewer complications than NOACs in terms of gastrointestinal bleeding, the risk of intracranial bleeding, was similar between the groups.

Implementation of a telemedicine, stroke evaluation service; a qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: The service was perceived as valuable to the local community, providing a sense of healthcare security and equitability. Prevalence of atrial fibrillation in a regional Victoria setting, findings from the crossroads studies (2001-2003 and 2016-2018)
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of AF among community-based participants in regional Victoria was similar to predominantly metropolitan-based studies, and was unchanged over time despite increased rates of risk factors.
