Impact of a person-centred community rehabilitation service on outcomes for individuals with a neurological condition.
CONCLUSIONS: In the first year of operation, the community rehabilitation service made a significant impact on outcomes for individuals with a neurological condition. Further research is required to identify appropriate measures of activities of daily living and quality of life that reflect person-centred rehabilitation outcomes for restoring function, maximizing function, or preparing for functional decline. A low-cost, tablet-based option for prehospital neurologic assessment: The iTREAT Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Utilizing a low-cost, tablet-based platform and commercial cellular networks, we can reliably perform prehospital neurologic assessments in both rural and urban settings. Further research is needed to establish the reliability and validity of prehospital mobile telestroke assessment in live patients presenting with acute neurologic symptoms. Pattern and location of intracerebral hemorrhage in Enugu, South-East Nigeria: A review of 139 cases
Conclusion: Frequency of LH and DCH varied with age as LH peaked before the age of 40 while deep cerebral at 40–49 years. The age distribution of different types of ICH may suggest a higher role of other factors apart from hypertension. Further studies are required to establish the risk factors of LH and DCHs in our environment.

Duplex ultrasound: Indications and findings in a newly created facility at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar
Conclusion: Duplex ultrasound has been shown to diagnose varied vascular pathologies even in a locale where it is a relatively new technique. It is recommended that timely referrals be made, and mobile Doppler units be acquired to save more lives and limbs in the developing world.

Stroke risk factors among participants of a world stroke day awareness program in South-Western Nigeria
Conclusion: Stroke risk factors such as hypertension and obesity were common among the participants of the world stroke day awareness program in an urban area of Nigeria. Community screening and modification of these risk factors should be intensified in order to reduce stroke morbidity and mortality.
