Characteristics of stroke after liver and kidney transplantation
ConclusionsIn-hospital, perioperative, and hemorrhagic strokes were more common in the LT group than in the KT group. Ischemic stroke subtypes did not differ significantly between the two groups and undetermined etiology was the most common cause of ischemic stroke in both groups. High mortality after stroke was noted in transplantation patients and was associated with in-hospital stroke.

Intracranial Hemorrhage Diagnosed with Transcranial Ultrasound in a Comatose, Postliver Transplant Patient
We report a case of an intracranial hemorrhage first suspected during a trans-cranial Doppler assessment of a postorthotopic liver transplant patient. The patient was at considerable risk of bleeding, due to a primary graft nonfunction, but he had also elevated ammonium levels, justifying the comatose state, and no focal neurological deficits.

A 41-year-old female with progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy after liver transplant
We report a patient who received liver transplantation due to liver failure resulting from autoimmune hepatitis and advanced PML presenting with aphasia. A 41-year-old female with a history of liver transplantation who received a usual immunosuppression regimen was admitted with a stroke attack resulting in right hemiplegia 2  months after liver transplantation. Stroke Dysbiosis Index (SDI) in Gut Microbiome Are Associated With Brain Injury and Prognosis of Stroke
Conclusions: We developed an index to measure gut microbiota dysbiosis in stroke patients; this index was significantly correlated with patients' outcome and was causally related to outcome in a mouse model of stroke. Brain Microbleeds 12 Years after Orthotopic Liver Transplantation in Val30Met Amyloidosis
Unexplained focal neurologic episodes (FNEs) can occur in patients with transthyretin-related familial amyloidotic polyneuropathy (TTR-FAP) after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT). A patient with Val30Met FAP underwent OLT at age 34 years. Twelve years after transplantation, she presented with recurrent FNEs lasting from 10 minutes to 8 hours each, with nonuniform deficitary clinical features and variably associated with headache. Magnetic resonance imaging showed multiple brain microbleeds and diffuse contrast enhancement of the craniospinal leptomeninges consistent with amyloid deposits.

Quality of Life in Liver Transplant Patients with Neurologic Complications. (P4.031)
Conclusions: Our analysis shows that neurological complications worsen the quality of life of liver transplant patients. Especially regarding perception of health, ability to function independently due to physical and mental health limitations. Pain is a limiting condition in this group.
