One-Year Risk of Stroke After Transient Ischemic Attack or Minor Stroke in Hunter New England, Australia (INSIST Study)
Conclusion: One-year risk of stroke in TIAMS participants was lower than reported in previous studies. Early implementation of antiplatelet/anticoagulant therapies may have contributed to the low stroke recurrence.

Predicting the risk of stroke in patients with late-onset epilepsy: A machine learning approach
CONCLUSION: The stroke risk in patients with epilepsy was relatively high and could be predicted based on comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, heart failure, and alcohol dependence. The Characteristics of Patients With Possible Transient Ischemic Attack and Minor Stroke in the Hunter and Manning Valley Regions, Australia (the INSIST Study)
Conclusion: This study provides the first contemporary data on TIAMS or TIAMS-mimics in Australia. Community and health provider education is required to address the under-use of anticoagulation therapy in patients with known AF, possibly inappropriate use of antiplatelet therapy and possibly inappropriate discontinuation of antiplatelet or anticoagulation therapy.

Effect of Long-Term Vascular Care on Progression of Cerebrovascular Lesions Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Nurse-led vascular care in hypertensive community-dwelling older persons did not diminish WMH accumulation over 3 years. However, our results do suggest this type of intervention could be effective in persons with high WMH volumes. Ongoing impairments following transient ischaemic attack: retrospective cohort study
ConclusionsTransient ischaemic attack is associated with significantly increased subsequent consultation for fatigue, psychological impairment and cognitive impairment. These findings suggest that impairments exist after initial symptoms of TIA have resolved, which should be considered by clinicians when treating TIA patients.
