Fulminant Extra- And Intracranial Arteriovenous Thrombosis And Non-aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Following COVID-19 Infection
CONCLUSION: A high degree of suspicion for COVID-19 induced coagulopathy leading to extensive non- aneurysmal, non-hemispheric SAH and malignant intracranial hypertension should be entertained. Our experience and previous reports on non-aneurysmal SAH in such patients show a poor prognosis.PMID:37198510

Minimally Invasive Intracerebral Hemorrhage Evacuation Improves Pericavity Cerebral Blood Volume
This study aims to quantify blood volume changes in the perihematomal parenchyma and pericavity parenchyma after minimally invasive intracerebral hemorrhage evacuation (MIS for ICH). Thirty-two patients underwent MIS for ICH with pre- and post-operative CT imaging and intraoperative perfusion imaging (DynaCT PBV Neuro, Artis Q, Siemens). The pre-operative and post-operative CT scans were segmented using ITK-SNAP software to calculate hematoma volumes and to delineate the pericavity tissue. Helical CT segmentations were registered to cone beam CT data using elastix software. Mean blood volumes were computed inside subvolume...

A case of spontaneous basal ganglia hemorrhage with contralateral extension utilizing the canal of Gratiolet
Intracranial hemorrhage accounts for 10 –20% of stroke etiologies annually. Basal ganglia is the most common site for intracranial hemorrhage accounting for 50% of all cases. Bilateral spontaneous basal ganglia...

The efficacy of stereotactic minimally invasive thrombolysis at different catheter positions in the treatment of small- and medium-volume basal ganglia hemorrhage (SMITDCP I): a randomized, controlled, and blinded endpoint phase 1 trial
ConclusionStereotactic minimally invasive puncture combined with urokinase for the treatment of small- and medium-volume hemorrhage in the basal ganglia, including catheterization through the long axis of the hematoma, led to significantly better drainage effects and fewer complications. However, there was no significant difference in short-term NIHSS scores between the two types of catheterization.

Effects of silent brain infarction on the hemorrhagic transformation and prognosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke after intravenous thrombolysis
ConclusionWe found that SBI was no effect for HT after thrombolysis in ischemic stroke patients, and no effect on favorable functional outcome at 3 months. Nevertheless, SBI remained an independent risk factor for non-excellent functional outcomes at 3 months.

Significant increase in mortality and risk of acute ischemic stroke in infective endocarditis patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage secondary to mycotic aneurysms
Infective Endocarditis (IE) patients are known to have a variety of complications with one of the rarest, but serious being cerebral mycotic aneurysm, which can result in subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Using the National In-Patient Sample database, we sought to determine the rate of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and outcomes in IE- patients with and without SAH. In total, we identified 82,844  IE-patients from 2010 to 2016, of which 641 had a concurrent diagnosis of SAH. IE patients with SAH had a more complicated course, higher mortality rate (OR 4.65 CI 95% 3.9–5.5, P

Dural arteriovenous fistula presenting with stroke-like symptoms and regional cerebral hyperperfusion: a case report
Non-hemorrhagic focal neurological deficit is one of the clinical manifestations of intracranial dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVF). When symptoms appear suddenly, it is difficult to distinguish it from ische...
