Cardiovascular comorbidities based on impaired pulmonary function in non-smoking population
Conclusion: The prevalence of cardiovascular comorbidities in non-smokers was higher in restrictive group and COPD, compared to normal control. Restrictive group was independently associated with coronary artery disease in non-smokers.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is independently associated with hypertension in men: A survey design analysis using nationwide survey data
The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between COPD and hypertension by using nationally representative data. This cross-sectional study analyzed data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey V conducted during 2010 to 2012. Hypertension was defined as a mean systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mm Hg and/or a diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mm Hg, or current consumption of antihypertensive medications. Unemployment in COPD: Results from the BOLD study
Conclusion: There was substantial variation in employment of COPD-patients, but the overall effect of COPD on unemployment was modest when we adjusted for geography, demographic factors and comorbidities.

Lower Extremity Proximal Muscle Function and Dyspnea in Older Persons
ConclusionPoor performance on a single chair stand was associated with an adjusted 85% greater likelihood of moderate to severe exertional dyspnea than normal performance. These results suggest that reduced proximal muscle function of the lower extremities is associated with moderate to severe exertional dyspnea, even after adjusting for multiple confounders.

C-reactive protein: Its correlations with pulmonary function, physical capacity and anthropometric measurements in patients with metabolic syndrome
Conclusions: It was found negative relationships between CRP level with PF and PC. On the contrary, there were positive correlations of CRP with parameters of BC. We think that it can be provided decline in the CRP level and increment in PF improving the functional capacity and body composition with aerobic exercise in patients with MS.
