Results of Systemizing Stroke Care in Acute Endovascular Patients (P2.308)
CONCLUSIONS: Implementation of a streamlined routing and transfer process significantly shortened treatment times and decreased complications in our stroke patients. Our pre-established expedited triage, imaging, stroke physician expertise, and mechanical clot retrieval proficiency resulted in more favorable outcomes. Multicenter clinical experience in over 125 patients with the Penumbra Separator 3D for mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions The results suggest that the Separator 3D enables safe and effective revascularization of occluded large arteries in acute stroke intervention, leading to a high rate of functional independence at 90 days.

Trends in Utilization and Adverse Outcomes Associated with Transvenous Lead Removal in the United States.
CONCLUSIONS: -The overall complication rate in patients undergoing TLR was higher than previously reported. Female gender and device infections are associated with higher complications. Hospital volume was not associated with higher complication rates. The number of adverse events in the literature likely underestimates the actual number of complications associated with TLR. Iatrogenesis imperfecta: stroke caused by accidental carotid artery catheterization.
CONCLUSION:: Even with ultrasound-guided central venous catheterization, it is essential to remain vigilant for the early detection of vascular complications. Inhospital Complications Associated with Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation in the United States between 2000-2010: Analysis of 93,801 Procedures.
CONCLUSIONS: The overall complication rate was 6.29% in patients undergoing AF ablation. There was a significant association between operator and hospital volume on adverse outcomes. This suggests a need for future research into identifying the safety measures in AF ablations and instituting appropriate interventions to improve overall AF ablation outcomes. Initial experience with a reversal-of-flow cerebral protection device in carotid angioplasty
PURPOSE: To report initial findings with the GORE Flow Reversal System®, with a focus on major/minor adverse events in the 30 first postoperative days. METHODS: The first 24 patients submitted to carotid angioplasty using the GORE system, from June 2010 to May 2012, were retrospectively assessed with regard to indications, anatomic details, technical difficulties, and early clinical outcomes, including major (stroke, death, acute myocardial infarction) and minor (hematoma) adverse events. A Meta-Analysis of Observational Intra-Arterial Stroke Therapy Studies Using the Merci Device, Penumbra System, and Retrievable Stents INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: The use of the PS and RS was associated with comparable procedural time to recanalization. Available data did not allow this parameter to be determined for trials using the MD. Retrievable stents achieved the highest rate of successful recanalization and functional outcome and the lowest mortality.
