Safety and efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve implantation in stenotic bicuspid aortic valve compared to tricuspid aortic valve: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: The use of TAVI for the treatment of aortic stenosis in selective BAV appears to be safe and effective.PMID:35770517 | DOI:10.1080/14779072.2022.2094368

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement in aortic stenosis and cardiac amyloidosis: a systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsTAVR is an effective and safe procedure in CA-AS patients, with a substantial survival benefit as compared with medical therapy, and a safety profile comparable with patients with AS alone except for a trend towards higher risk of permanent pacemaker implantation.

Hypertensive response to exercise in adult patients with repaired aortic coarctation
Conclusions A hypertensive response to exercise was present in nearly half of the patients in this large, prospective cohort of adults with repaired CoA. Risk factors for increased peak exercise SBP were male sex, absence of a bicuspid aortic valve and elevated resting SBP. Increased peak exercise SBP independently predicted hypertension at follow-up. These results support close follow-up of patients with a hypertensive response to exercise to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment of future hypertension.

Transcatheter and Surgical Aortic Valve Implantation in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Congenital Heart Disease
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is common in adults but rare in children and adolescents. Since 2014, our institution has incorporated a transcatheter approach as an option for aortic valve replacement in this population. The purpose of this study was to compare short-term outcomes of TAVI with surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). This single-center, retrospective study included patients aged 10 to 21 years who had a native SAVR or TAVI between January 2010 to April 2020. Comparative analysis of baseline characteristics and a composite outcome (stroke within 6 months, readmission within 30 days, death) ...

Cystatin C in risk prediction after transcatheter aortic valve replacement: a retrospective analysis
ConclusionsThe CKDCys classification could better assess the risk than the CKDCr classification in patients undergoing TAVR. CKDCys stage 3b and stage 4  + 5 correlated with adverse outcomes.

Evaluation of robotic-assisted mitral surgery in a contemporary experience
Conclusion This initial experience suggests the reliability and clinical safety of a recently established local robotic-assisted mitral surgery. This strategy can facilitate faster postoperative recovery, and its positioning in the therapeutic armamentarium needs to be defined.

Early and midterm outcomes of transcatheter aortic-valve replacement with balloon-expandable versus self-expanding valves: A meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: PSM studies suggest lower early and midterm mortality in BEV than SEV, but the contribution of unmeasured confounders cannot be excluded. Results from adequately powered RCTs with long-term follow-up are critically needed to confirm these findings.PMID:35599108 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2022.04.011

Efficacy and Safety of Postdilation for a Self-Expanding Transcatheter Heart Valve
CONCLUSION: For transfemoral TAVR using the Acurate neo/neo2, BPD effectively reduces relevant PVR and decreases the risk of PPM without increasing adverse events. Transcatheter heart valve damage associated with BPD is rare, commonly avoidable, and does not jeopardize the net benefit of BPD.PMID:35593542
