Relationship between pre-stroke cardiovascular medication use and stroke severity
Conclusion Pre-stroke use of statins is significantly associated with lower stroke severity. No significant relationship was detected between pre-stroke use of other medication groups and stroke severity, defined by the NIHSS score.

Conclusions: This study suggests that LVWMA, even when unassociated with high-risk cardioembolic sources, could be an independent predictor for stroke recurrence in patients with ischemic stroke.

The effect of statins on National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NiHSS) in Ischemic stroke.

Pravastatin Reduces the Risk of Atherothrombotic Stroke when Administered within Six Months of an Initial Stroke Event.
