Effect of task-based mirror therapy on motor recovery of the upper extremity in chronic stroke patients: a pilot study.
Conclusions: The preliminary findings suggest that task-based MT is effective in improving wrist and hand motor recovery in chronic stroke patients. Further studies in the form of randomized trials are needed to validate its effectiveness. PMID: 23841968 [PubMed - in process]

Rasch analysis of a new hierarchical scoring system for evaluating hand function on the motor assessment scale for stroke.
Conclusion. Following a multistep process of test development, analysis, and refinement, we have redesigned the two scales that comprise the hand function items on the MAS. Minimal clinically important difference of the lower-extremity fugl-meyer assessment in chronic-stroke.
CONCLUSION: In chronic poststroke hemiparetic subjects, the computed MCID of FMA-LE is a score of 6. The subjects who achieve a change in a score of 6 on FMA-LE would perceive a meaningful recovery of lower-extremity function than those who do not. Hand robotics rehabilitation: feasibility and preliminary results of a robotic treatment in patients with hemiparesis.
Conclusions. This original rehabilitation treatment could contribute to increase the hand motor recovery in acute stroke patients. The simplicity of the treatment, the lack of side effects, and the first positive results in acute stroke patients support the recommendations to extend the clinical trial of this treatment, in association with physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy.
