Associations Between Adherence to Evidence-Based, Stroke Quality Indicators and Outcomes of Acute Reperfusion Therapy
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated national marked and sustainable improvement in adherence to door-to-needle time, door-to-puncture time, and successful reperfusion from 2013 to 2017 in Japan in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Testosterone and Dihydrotestosterone and Incident Ischemic Stroke in Men in the Cardiovascular Health Study.
CONCLUSIONS: DHT had a nonlinear association with stroke risk in which there was an optimal DHT level associated with the lowest stroke risk. Further studies are needed to confirm these results and to clarify if there is an optimal androgen range associated with the least risk for adverse outcomes in elderly men. Contribution of sickle cell disease to the pediatric stroke burden among hospital discharges of African‐Americans—United States, 1997–2012
ConclusionsSCD is a leading risk factor to pediatric stroke in African‐American children. Reducing the number of strokes among children with SCD would have a significant impact on the rate of strokes among African‐American children. Changes in the cellular immune system and circulating inflammatory markers of stroke patients.
This study was designed to investigate dynamic changes in the cellular immune system and circulating inflammatory markers after ischemic stroke. Blood was collected from 96 patients and 99 age-matched control subjects for detection of lymphocyte subpopulations and inflammatory markers. We observed decreases in B cells, Th cells, cytotoxic T cells, and NK cells and an increase in regulatory T (Treg) cells in stroke patients on days 1, 3, and 7. The structured ambulatory post-stroke care program for outpatient aftercare in patients with ischaemic stroke in Germany (SANO): an open-label, cluster-randomised controlled trial
This study was registered with the German Clinical Trials Register, DRKS00015322.FINDINGS: Between Jan 1, 2019 and Dec 22, 2020, 36 clusters were assessed for eligibility, of which 30 were randomly assigned to the intervention group (n=15 clusters) or control group (n=15 clusters). Increased risk for cancer after stroke at a young age: etiological relevance or incidental finding?
ConclusionIn our cohort, young individuals aged  ≤ 55 years who suffered a stroke had twice as high risk for developing cancer within 10 years after the index event compared to the control group. Stroke might have implication regarding the subsequent development of cancer and vice versa.

Conclusions: We found 12.5% pts with both diagnoses. Cancer, as a hipercoagulable state, might be a risk factor for stroke, which in turn could be a first manifestation of a neoplasic disease.
